2018-2019 Indoor and Outdoor Schedule is Here

We are so happy to announce that Caroline Johnston (Episcopal) has signed a scholarship to compete for Clemson University!  We are so proud of her.  Last year she jumped 20'3" in the long jump and 40'7" in the triple jump, one of the top jump recruits in the country.

he Jacksonville Athletic Club went to their first competition of the 2018-19 season, taking 4 pole vaulters to Fitzgerald, Georgia to participate in the Fitzgerald Hurricane Pole Vault Invitational.  We were so excited to get there, that we got a speeding ticket on the way!  We had a great time, and left with some great results.  Highlights included:

- Audrey Wuerfell setting a new PR of 11'6" to win the high school division.  She had some great attempts at 12', and her jump of 11'6" is one of the highest pole vaults ever by a 1A vaulter!  You can see her 11'6" jump here.

-Anna Hansen getting 2nd place to jump 8'6".  This is her 2nd highest jump ever, and a great season opener!

-Decathletes K'Vonte and Kyle go 1-2 in the post-high school group with K'Vonte jumping 15' and Kyle jumping 13'.  Both are great starts to their season.

The Jacksonville Athletic Club has concluded a very busy and successful summer club season!  Feel free to visit here for all of our results from the summer, and see here for our updated all-time top 5 lists and new club records!

The Jacksonville Athletic Club has had a busy first month of the summer club season!  Updates will be here soon from our first few meets.  Lots of personal bests so far!  Check back soon for a recap from the last few weeks.

Golden South Classic (May 19th)
- We had some great results in the sprints before the meet got cancelled due to rain.  Cartrell Patterson set PRs in the 100m and 200m, Nishya Reed came in 3rd in the prep 400m and Sydney Lake won the prep shot put!  Also, Aidan Dinsbeer warmed up twice, bought a Golden South t-shirt, yet never got the chance to compete.

Epitome of Excellence Meet (May 26-17th)
- This meet also got rained out, so we started our summer season off really well.  Before the meet got cancelled, Caleigh Furyk was able to PR in the pole vault and javelin throw, Seba Moreno took a great attempt at the Paraguayan national record in the pole vault, and Alice Creed shattered our club record in the 3ooom racewalk!

JTC Summer Meet #1
