2018 Indoor and Outdoor Schedule and Results are Here

The Jacksonville Athletic Club has had a great start to the high school season.  We will do a better job of weekly updates this month (I hope!).  Since the start of the high school season, our pole vaulter have been the one group that have already posted numerous PRs.  The following JAC pole vaulters have already PRed in just the 1st two weeks of the season:

- Caleigh Furyk (7') (3rd week of pole vaulting)
- Alice Creed (8'9")
- Laine Roberts (12' 3 1/2") (FL #1)
- Audrey Wuerffel (9'8")
- Nick Brooks (11') (2nd week of pole vaulting)
- Jack Leake (10'2")
- Jacob Christy (9')
- Aidan Dinsbeer (12'3 1/2")
- Patrick Coyle (13'9")

The Jacksonville Athletic Club opened up our 2018 season this past Saturday at Embry-Riddle University.  It wasn't as warm as we were hoping for, but it was still a great way to start the year and find out what we need to work on in practice.  Highlights include:

-Abby Thorpe long jumping 17'8 1/4" to get 6th.  This is the farthest that she has jumped in January, February, or March by over a foot! Abby also got 2nd place in the high jump.

-Laine Roberts getting 2nd in the pole vault to jump 11'6"  You can see her 11'6" clearance here.

-Audrey Wuerffel getting 8th in the pole vault to set a new PR of 9' 1/4"!  You can see her near miss at 9'6" here.

-Kam Firpo getting 2nd in the pole vault to jump 13'

-Joe Porkett getting 7th in the discus to throw 121'7", the 2nd farthest throw of his life!

Our first meet of 2018 is tomorrow!  We will head down to Daytona Beach for a meet at Embry-Riddle University.  Live Results can be found here, and a recap of the meet will be posted by Monday!

We hope everyone had a great Christmas / Holiday as well as a safe and happy New Year! We are currently getting ready for the high school season, as well as preparing for a few more club meets, including the mall vault.  Check back here frequently for updates, results, and accomplishments!
